Tattoo Aftercare
First 24 Hours
Phase 1 : cleaning & protection
The first hours are crucial: your tattoo is an open wound that needs shielding from bacteria and friction. Follow these essential steps in Montreal, Laval or anywhere to optimise healing.
- Remove the wrap: after 2–4 h.
- Gentle wash: clean hands, lukewarm water, fragrance-free antibacterial soap.
- Pat dry: dab gently with a clean towel or paper towel.
- No scratching: avoid touching with unwashed hands.
The first two weeks
Your tattoo will peel and itch—totally normal. Here’s how to promote even healing and keep deep blacks and crisp shading typical of biomech style.
- Wash twice daily: morning & night with a mild, scent-free soap.
- Light moisturising: thin layer of fragrance-free cream (Aquaphor, Hustle Butter, etc.) 2-3×/day.
- No picking — let flakes fall naturally.
- Clean, loose clothes to avoid irritation.
- Avoid: direct sun, pools, hot tubs, saunas, heavy workouts, pets rubbing on the area.

Preserve Your Art
Long-term care
- Sun protection: SPF 30+ cream every time you’re outside.
- Regular hydration: thin layer of ointment (Webber, Hustle Butter, etc.) twice daily.
- Touch-ups: consider a refresh 6–12 months in if needed.
- Lifestyle: balanced diet and overall hydration support healthy skin.
Simple but consistent care keeps colours vibrant and lines sharp for years, whether you’re in Montreal, Laval or elsewhere.
